Union Square
For this lively downtown scene, I placed the green cable car against the palms, storefronts, tour bus, pedestrians, and tall buildings surrounding Union Square. I used precise drawing for the transit vehicles but allowed the crowds to remain loose clusters of color and movement. Soft peach, turquoise, red, and green washes give the composition a cheerful, sunlit quality.
