Soft Morning Light
This downtown panorama I wanted to depict as a conversation between generations of San Francisco architecture, with the Transamerica Pyramid standing beside the newer Salesforce Tower and the Bay Bridge slipping quietly into the background. I began by arranging the skyline as overlapping geometric shapes, then layered pale ochre, blue-gray, and dusty rose washes to separate the buildings without making them feel rigid. I left the sky and edges especially light so the city would seem to emerge gradually through our familiar coastal haze.
