They are endangered due to the poaching of their ivory tusks, which are sold on the black market. Mankind should be ashamed for allowing evil to prevail and failing to adequately protect and look after so many of the wild animals of planet earth. The African savanna elephant (loxodonta africana) is now listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List. All proceeds from sales will go to the Wildlife Conservation Network.
