Python
In Greek mythology Python is a daughter (or sometimes son) of Gaia, the Earth. She represents primal earth energies, and was set to guard the Oracle of Delphi. She was later slain by the Olympian God Apollon in revenge for Pythin pursuing his mother Leto, whilst she was pregnant with the divine twins Apollon and Artemis. Apollon then absorbed her power and became the God of the Delphic Oracle during the summer months (Dionysos ruled there I the I=winter months). Python's power and name lived in in the Pythia, the Oracular priestesses of Delphi.
