Over the Hedge
This handsome little sparrow stood out beautifully against the soft, sunlit foliage, so I layered warm chestnut and brown along the wings, then used charcoal and cool gray for the head, throat, and breast. The hedge was painted with loose, overlapping green shapes, allowing the edges to fade so the bird would remain the crispest and most observant presence.
