Ding, ding!
In this complex scene of vehicle detail and interacting human anatomy, I drew the car carefully, then painted its wooden body in layered burgundy, ochre, and cream. The passengers were added individually, though I kept their features loose so the scene would remain lively rather than photographic. I especially enjoyed painting the jumble of hats, cameras, hands, and shoulders. It feels touristy, practical, historic, and entirely San Franciscan all at once.
