Balance Rocks
Location: Little Portage Bay, Lake Superior, Northwestern Ontario, Canada.
Notes: This is a location that is exposed to the east winds of Lake Superior. The name Little Portage comes from the small portage from Little Trout Bay to Little Portage Bay which is adjacent to the Little Trout Bay Conservation Area. It is a bay is part of the Big Trout Bay Nature Conservatory of Canada property, located in Neebing Municipality in the Thunder Bay District.
This is a nice bay to visit on a calm day. The beach at the end of the bay is a mixture of rocks of various colors. The rocks make way to a small sandy beach as one walks south along it. The far southern shore is a rock face again of many colors. There are Peregrine flacons that nest somewhere along these rock faces
