Abstract In Black, Pink and Silver
"Abstract In Black, Pink and Silver" "Abstract in Colour" is a section of a painting on A3 paper I produced at a course I attended in abstract art on Friday 14th November 2025. I headed over to Harwarden in North Wales and, while storm Claudia did her worst, I was inducted into the mysteries of abstract expressionism by Chester artist Jack Few, assisted by Helen Jones. The course began with a summary of modern art history, before we worked on expressing concepts, emotions and elements in pencil on paper. We were then let loose with acrylic paint! I worked this piece in the class in just black acrylic paint on white paper and then added pink ink and silver coloured metallic foil to it later at home. I left the course with an immense respect for the artists I heard about at the start of the day. They were men and woman trying something no one had attempted before, redefining perceptions of beauty often while struggling to earn enough to live on. I also left with several paintings full of playful self-expression. I hope you like this one!
