Minuteman, Robbins Memorial Flagstaff, 1913
Cyrus Dallin was commissioned by the Robbins Family of Arlington to create this flagstaff, which was to be placed adjacent to the new Town Hall (another gift from the family). The figures on the flagstaff represent the Town's early history: a Minuteman on guard with his musket, Woman Leader of the Massachusett Tribe; a mother teaching her child to read, and a Pilgrim studying his bible.
