View Larger on Chockstone Photography The morning sun invades Kanangra Deep, lighting the Thurat Spires, while rocks eroded by wind and rain perch atop the gorge. Kanangra-Boyd is the south-western continuation of the popular Blue Mountains National Park, not far from Sydney. It takes about 3 and a half hour drive to the start of the Plateau Walk track, which itself is easy enough I’d rate it family friendly, particularly in light of other activities in the area such as Jenolan Caves and camping at Boyd River. Apart from Kanangra Tops Plateau there are several other, more serious tracks to explore, including a three day trek north to Black Heath.
