View Larger on Chockstone Photography Gibson's Beach contains two of the famous "Twelve Apostles" sea stacks, a set of crumbling rock formations rising out of the ocean on the west coast of Victoria, Australia. They represent a very popular tourist destination along "The Great Ocean Road" and are viewed by many hundreds every day, most notably during sunset when the railings are crowded with overseas visitors. I've attempted to capture this scene many times over the years but never quite had the perfect combination of zero wind and interesting dawn clouds. Usually the off-shore breeze is more like an off-shore gale, and when it’s not the sky is an empty blank canvas. Early one December morning it finally all came together, and incredibly for this location, I had the place to myself. Well at least for a little while.
