Lemonade
This was my painting from Rebecca's class today. I was trying to paint a realistic lemon but got very interested in the reflections and shadows in the jug. I was trying to create a painting where the background was in soft focus so the eye is drawn to the foreground lemon. I usedW&N French Ulramarine, Permanent Rose and Aureolin. I choose Aureolin as thought it would give a good lemon yellow colour. I then wanted to mix a good purple as a complementary colour to the yellow so choose the red and blu accordingly. I also knew the French Ultramarine would mix well with the yellow to give the green I wanted. I think colour theory lessons together with experimentation are paying off!
