Cascades, Gleann na Eildeag
I'm not the first person to have made a photo of this particular cascade... But it's none the less photogenic for that. The river and path run parallel through Gleann na Eildeag south out of Glen Lyon; a lovely mix with aesthetically pleasing proportions of rock and flowing water. The first real photo I attempted using a new Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 Sony FE lens. At ISO 100 (no noise) and f/14 (lots of depth of field, not yet suffering from diffraction), 2s was sufficient to blur the highlights in the water pleasantly (especially in the pool to the bottom of the frame); it's a measure of how effective long exposure can be that the snowflakes falling thick and fast leave no impression in the photo. Pixel-shift helped both increase resolution and prolong the effective shutter speed.
