The valley under this bridge has been dry for at least three and a half years but I had heard a rumour that, following the recent storm, water had returned.
I spent a lot of time trying to work out a composition that would be effective on this blue sky day, and then spent a long time hanging around waiting for the light to be where I wanted it.
This is actually two exposures. The first, a 30 second exposure with a 10 stop filter, shot about 50 minutes before sunset when there was still light on the bridge and the foreground. The second, with no filters, a 1/10 second exposure about 5 minutes before sunset when the light on the background mountain and ridges was as its best
