View Larger on Chockstone Photography Beehive Falls is a pleasant little 2.8km return walk in the Grampians National Park, and like most of the waterfalls in this park, best viewed after rain. With clear water cascading down over orange sandstone, passed lush ferns and into rock pools it offers quite the contrast to the surrounding landscape which can appear unforgiving and sparse, particularly in the drier months of the year. Following Mud Hut Creek upstream the Beehive Falls track continues on all the way up to Mount Difficult, some 14km of fairly challenging terrain. That makes for a very long 28km return day walk, or you could camp the night at the Gar campsite and walk back the next day. Alternatives including adding Briggs Bluff for extra adventure and distance, or a through hike to Troopers Creek campground combined with a car swap back to Beehive Falls carpark. A further option would be to skip Mount Difficult and just do Beehive Falls to Briggs Bluff and return, which is still going to be over 20km. Beware the lack of water, and harsh Australian sun.
