I'm an ancient Asian art buff. An old man still looking towards the rising Sun. In my pieces I am reaching back to go forwards; my only wish: to indulge fully in the process of remixing art...
I am deeply inspired by the masters of Japanese Ukiyo-e painting, and aim with my pieces to convey a deeply evocative and somewhat reminiscent picture of a past both foreign and beautiful, where notions of time and enjoyment had very different connotations. I sincerely hope that the viewers will feel peace and appreciation when they contemplate on this piece.
I have chosen to mix drawing, painting and digital collage to mix and match pieces present in my favorite Ukiyo-e pieces – some very well known and others anonymous and underground – because it provides me with a freedom of expression that is not limited by genre or nomenclature.
