Vortexed
The sense of movement is what most pleases me about this painting. It is the sort of painting that I do without planning, just allowing my hand to move in sympathy with the original line I drew.
It maybe a cyclonic wind, a willy-willy or a puff of smoke.
It began, as so many of my artworks do, with a spiral at the centre and evolved from there.
It was done with a bronze Metallic Brush-Pen in a visual diary (110gsm Cartridge paper). These work well together as the texture of the paper gives unexpected effects to the brush but allows the paint to flow over the surface without soaking in.
