Intergotchi- Intersex pride Pet: Snail Intersex: Intersex is a general term used for a variety of situations in which a person is born with reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't fit the boxes of “female” or “male.” Sometimes doctors do surgeries on intersex babies and children to make their bodies fit binary ideas of “male” or “female”. Some children are labeled "hermaphrodite" by science, by doctors and people who may not understand intersex. About 1 to 2 people out of 100 are born intersex every day, 1.7% of the worlds population is intersex. Some are born with both parts by a genetic developement. Some children can be born with both ovaries and testicles, some children can be born with a uterus and a penis, some children are born with a uterus but testicles instead of ovaries, some children are born with ambiguous genetalia and parents make the choice for the child to "fix them". personally I don't like the phrase fixing them as the person was born that way, it wasn't a mistake. Fun Fact about snails: Snails are hermaphrodite/ Intersex. When snails reproduce its basically a battle between the two snails to see who can penetrate who first and the one that gets penetrated becomes the spawner of the snail offspring. Snails do not have a designated gender and can change their gender as necessary for them. Frogs can also change their gender if the reproduction pool is very low or they have a low chance of reproduction or there are not enough of one gender.
