Cryptify – Text Encryption and Decryption System
Cryptify is a client-side web application that enables secure encryption and decryption of text messages using modern cryptographic standards. The application allows users to enter a message and a secret key, then converts the message into an unreadable encrypted format that can only be restored using the correct key.
Cryptify uses AES-256-GCM encryption with PBKDF2 key derivation and 100,000 iterations to ensure strong resistance against brute-force attacks. For each encryption process, a unique initialization vector and salt are generated to enhance security and prevent pattern-based attacks. The encrypted output is packaged into a single transferable format containing the encrypted data, IV, and salt.
All cryptographic operations are performed entirely within the user’s browser using the Web Crypto API. No data is stored, transmitted, or sent to any server, ensuring complete privacy and zero-knowledge operation.
The project features a clean, modern user interface built with HTML, Tailwind CSS, and vanilla JavaScript, offering seamless switching between encryption and decryption modes. Cryptify demonstrates real-world cryptography principles and serves as an educational and practical example of secure client-side communication.
