Wild Geese, Close Formation
For this one, I wanted to paint the geese at close range to capture the overlapping rhythm of wings, necks, and bodies in motion. Cool blue-gray and sepia washes were layered across the feathers, then reinforced with narrow brushstrokes to describe the wing structure. I allowed several birds to extend beyond the frame so the flock would feel larger, louder, and still passing overhead.
