Timeless Rye
The Victorian poet, Coventry Patmore, described Rye as “A little bit of the old world living on in pleasant ignorance of the new”. Hard to believe but Rye was once surrounded by sea; this fortified hilltop town played an important role in the defence of the south coast of England.
