The Roloi
The clock tower (the Roloi) in the village of Nimborio on the Greek Island of Halki (Chalki). The residents of Tarpon Springs, Florida, USA (descendants of Halki sponge divers who were forced to relocate when the sponge diving around Halki became unprofitable) endowed Halki with money for the stone clock tower. Unfortunately, it make so much noise, chiming every quarter that the residents, in typical Greek manner, decided to stop it, consequently, it only displays the correct time twice a day. On its left, the large building is the 19th century neoclassical Town Hall. Halki is a small charming island, part of the Dodecanese group of Greek islands, situated opposite the west coast of the Island of Rhodes.
