The Quiet Branch
Sometimes a small bird sitting perfectly still can hold my attention longer than anything spectacular. I painted this little visitor with earthy browns and grays, keeping the bird fairly detailed while allowing the surrounding foliage to dissolve into watery greens and pale sunlight. I especially enjoyed using the untouched paper as leaves, letting the background feel more remembered than described.
