The Falcon’s Gaze
I was drawn immediately to the extraordinary intensity in this falcon’s eye. I concentrated most of my strongest blues, blacks, and golden yellows around the head, then allowed the breast and shoulders to become progressively softer and more transparent. The loose edges give the painting room to breathe while that beautifully uncompromising stare remains firmly in charge.
