Tai-Chi
Vajramukti "Divine Thunderbolt" or "Dharma-clasped hand": A comprehensive system of mind/body training practiced by the Kshatriya ("Warrior") class of ancient India. Circa A.D. 520, Bodhidharma-Tamo traveled from India to China, where he shared these teachings with the monks of the Sung Mountain Range (Hunan Province), forming the genesis of the legendary Shaolin martial tradition. Circa A.D. 1200, Shaolin master Chang San Feng synthesized the teachings into the comprehensive discipline known as Tai Chi ("Grand Ultimate"). Over the centuries, Tai Chi has evolved into several different styles, and is the most widely practiced physical discipline in the world. By Christopher Scafone, 2016. Illustrator.
