Spring song
In Torrance, California, when they talk about "snowing" they are referring to the tiny white petals floating gently from the Trinity Flowering Pear Trees that line streets around the city's Cultural Arts Center. It's a short-lived but beautiful phenomenon that typically occurs in February, an early sign of spring and beautiful to behold. I was fortunate to be in Torrance on Valentine's Day 2015 and saw the pear trees blooming and "snowing" - what a treat! This is one of many photos from that day, with post-processing aimed at conveying the springtime joy of that afternoon: basics in Topaz Clarity and Detail plus textures and overlays from Isabelle Lafrance Photography (Midsummer Dream/Rain cloud), Leslie Nicole's French Kiss Textures (Stony Edge, Gold Dust and Fantaisie Music), Jerry Jones' Shadowhouse Creations (Grunge Bokeh, Square 161 and Slightly Delicate-1[soft]), and 2 Lil Owls (dragonflies). Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 50mm macro, f/8, 1/250 sec., ISO 200, afternoon sun, handheld) Top 10 (2nd Place) in "Blossoms of Spring" challenge in Perfect Harmonies group (June 2015) Featured in Peace, Love & Tranquility (25 February 2015) Featured in Blooms - All Seasons Flowers (23 February 2015) Featured in Vibration in Art and Verse - VAVoom! (20 February 2015) Featured in Feminine Intent (18 February 2015)
