Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse
Spring Point Ledge Light is a sparkplug lighthouse (due to its shape) in South Portland, Maine. It is also sometimes called a bug light. Spring Point Ledge Light marks a dangerous obstruction on the west side of the main shipping channel into Portland Harbor.
The lighthouse stands at the end of a long rocky jetty. It was quite unnerving walking out to the lighthouse with all of my camera gear. The calm sea stretches out, with distant land visible on the horizon.
