Seaside Sentinel
This gull had such a nice upright pose that I treated it almost like a portrait. I kept the body soft and luminous with pale washes of cream, gray, and blush, then sharpened the eye and beak just enough to give it alertness. The rock and background were simplified so the bird feels poised and slightly statuesque.
