Royal Sovereign
Historical and sadly topical all at once, this is my latest painting.
"Royal Sovereign" shows the Great Western Railway's locomotive of that name waiting at Paddington Station to haul her late Majesty Queen Victoria's funeral train to Windsor. I was moved to do this in part by memory of our Dear late Queen in general, in part by the splendid funeral ceremonial which was a fitting mark of respect to her but also in part by my surprise and disappointment that the Royal train was not used to carry Her Majesty on her final return to Windsor.
