Presidio Shore
For this classic view, I allowed the Golden Gate Bridge to rise directly from the shoreline and curve toward the Marin Headlands. I began with the pale blue water and distant hills, then layered the bridge in transparent reds and warm browns. The grassy foreground was painted more loosely, using olive, ochre, and gray-green to balance the steel structure. I wanted the result to feel less like a formal monument and more like the familiar neighborhood landmark it becomes when you have lived beside it long enough.
