Phoenix Firebird
I was working on a superhero art piece when the Orlando Pulse attack unfolded, the hero will become obvious.] prompting me to change the direction of my art. The change reflected the amazing surge & outpouring of emotion we in the LGBT community & those who support us felt about this terrible attack. Like so many others, I personally have been publicly humiliated, insulted & threatened. I've been spit on & yes, even beaten. In the face of hate & oppression there is a fierce & wonderful passion that is ignited. I'm not the best at writing, debating issues, etc., so my effort is channeled to artwork. I believe this could be a defining moment, a PHOENIX[<--there's the hero] rising to make some real & lasting changes so something good can come from this tragic loss of life. Our time here is more fleeting than we ever realize. Why do we waste it tearing down each other? Treat people with kindness, respect & compassion... your effort will be returned. My hope is that this artwork will be inspiring. Half of the artist's proceeds for this shirt will be donated to local LGBT organizations. Orlando, Pulse, Rainbow, Phoenix, Gay, Lesbian, LGBT, Fantasy
