Hi Rocks
Actually, the more accurate title is Hyrax... Say hello to "Rocks," a Rock Hyrax (Procavia capensis). And though he/she may look like a member of the rodent family, Rocks is actually a (comparatively tiny) relative of elephants and manatees. Adult hyrax grow to about 20 inches (50 cm) in furry length and weigh around 8.8 pounds (4 kg). Rock hyrax also go by the name of rock badgers and dassies but you can just call this guy Rocks. * Moru Kopjes, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania Canon EOS 7D Mark II with Canon EF100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens Handheld at Focal length 400mm, 1/400 second at f/5.6, ISO 800 * Featured by the groups Top Shelf Wildlife February 21 2016 African Art and Photography February 26 2016 Animals of Africa - Best of the Best March 5 2016 * *
