Common Ringed Plover Color Design
The Common Redshank (Tringa totanus) is a wader bird found across Europe, Asia, and parts of Africa, known for its distinctive red legs and bill. It inhabits wetlands, marshes, and shorelines, where it forages for a diet primarily consisting of insects, small crustaceans, and mollusks. Common Redshanks are highly migratory, breeding in northern regions and migrating to southern Europe, Africa, and South Asia during the winter. They are often observed probing mud and shallow water with their bills in search of food. The species is also known as simply "Redshank" due to its prominent leg color.
