Buttercup Haze
This meadow reminded me of those soft, unruly patches of wildflowers that appear after a good stretch of California rain. I began with a loose green wash, allowing sage, blue-gray, and pale violet to mingle while the paper was still damp. The buttery yellow flowers were added in scattered layers, some carefully shaped and others left as drifting impressions to create a sunlit, half-remembered feeling.
