After the Rain
This unusual pink flower gave me permission to paint the folds loosely and let the water make a few decisions for me. I used pale rose, lavender, coral, and muted gold, dropping stronger pigment into the dampest areas to create those unexpected blooms and edges watercolor does so well. The soft blue and peach background was allowed to spread freely around the flower like clearing weather.
