Across the Golden Gate
For this elevated view, I used the roadway and suspension cables to draw the eye straight through the Golden Gate towers and into the softly rounded Marin Headlands. I laid down the bay first in transparent turquoise and blue-green, allowing the pigments to settle naturally into the paper. The bridge was built afterward with several restrained layers of rust red, saving the darkest accents for the nearest tower.
