A Little Gull Conversation
There was something wonderfully conversational about these two gulls standing together, as though I had interrupted a perfectly good seaside discussion. I kept the bodies largely unpainted and built their forms from soft blue-gray shadows, warmer touches through the wings, and just enough pencil to hold everything together. Their beaks provided those tiny sparks of yellow and pink that keep the otherwise restrained palette from becoming too quiet.
