View Larger on Chockstone Photography Tumbarumba is a peaceful little country town on the western edge of the snowy mountains in New South Wales. Dating back to the 1850’s it’s surrounded by rolling green hills, vineyards, sheep and cattle stations and pleasant alpine fed streams where the occasional trout might surface. It resides about halfway between Sydney and Melbourne, if you’re prepared to depart the freeway somewhat, making a beaut little spot to break up a long drive with the kids in tow.
