View Larger on Chockstone Photography Long Plain Hut is one of the easiest of the Kosciuszko high country huts to access. In fact you can drive right up to it after only a short while on dirt roads off the Snowy Mountains Highway. It's quite popular with horse riders. So much so that there are two camping areas, one for us bipedal types and another for those of a more equestrian persuasion. I've captured the hut here in the early morning light, just before the sun crested the horizon. The scene, which I luckily had it all to myself for that particular dawn, was very still and quiet. Just a cold chill in the air which almost wanted to turn to frost, and a few noises from nearby grazing horses. A very peaceful morning.
