Devoted Mother II- Rough scaled python

This female rough scale python laid 5 fertile eggs. She wraps aroudn them, attempting to maintain temperature and humidity to maximise the chances of her offspring surviving. Rough scale pythons are prehaps the rarest species of python in the world, being found in the Prince Regent watershed, a small area of NW Australia. Fortunately this region is very remote and a large number of these pythons are now in captivity.
