View Larger on Chockstone Photography The Toorongo River and nearby falls offers a pleasant little day trip with accompanying easy nature walk for families travelling through the Gippsland area in the vicinity of Noojee. The surrounding countryside of rolling greens hills and verdant farmland gives way to tall forests and eventually to that lush ferny, moss covered goodness that is only found along perennial streams. There’s a camping area (in the sense that there’s a bit of a flat area to pitch a tent) and some toilets, but that’s it. I had the place to myself in winter and found it quite lovely overnight.
