"View Larger on Chockstone Photography":http://www.chockstonephotos.com/Australian-Print.asp?ID=1013 There are only a handful of waterfalls that empty into the ocean around the world and Curracurrong Falls in Sydney's Royal National Park is one of them. About an hour's walk south of Wattamolla on the Coast Track it is an exciting spectacle to behold, especially when the wind is up and the "falls" actually flow upwards! Split into two streams the river makes a nice focal point to the sandstone cliffs that are heavily backlit during sunset. Eagle Rock, is likewise noteworthy, jutting dangerously out over the ocean. Standing on it is not advised given that it will more than likely shear off one day. Humpback whales can also be spotted during whale watching season between June to September, and sea eagles or osprey can be seen from time to time. In the last of the light, golden sun blazed across the scene as I stood (safely anchored) on the edge of that big cliff. It was quite enthralling to watch the falling water meet the crashing waves. What great experience, and hopefully also a great image.
