Sam Houston Coliseum

This iconic venue was the epicenter of intense rivalries and spectacular performances that captivated the Gulf Coast region for decades, often running under the legendary banner of Houston Wrestling (a promotional branch of the NWA's omnipresent Southwest Championship Wrestling). From the booming voice of Paul Boesch to the epic clashes of the 1970s and 80s, the Coliseum was a crucible for stars like the Von Erichs, Harley Race, and Bruiser Brody. Though the building is gone, the echo of the massive crowds and the drama of the squared circle remain a powerful part of wrestling lore, defining an entire era of the sport in Texas.
