Pink Brugmansia Floral Watercolor

I tried to depict the profusion and density of this majestic specimen as it bursts into an abundance of fragrant trumpet-like blooms, the flowers transformed in color and form while I was painting them. Starting out yellow green they turn pure white in the evening, slightly blushing as they open fully.The following day they blush pinker and pinker until they reach a delicate balance between the pale yellow green upper stem and lower frilled salmon pink edges. Dawn and dusk sees their edges curling upwards, while during the day they take on a more classic bell-like form. The original pieces in this pair were produced using watercolor and graphite on 140lb. rag watercolor paper and sold to a collector.
