View Larger on Chockstone Photography Minnehaha Falls resides in the Blue Mountains near Katoomba along Yosemite Creek. The walk to this delightful 20m waterfall has the added bonus of being a popular swimming hole for those wishing to escape the heat of summer. It is quite common for the carpark to fill up quickly, and the pool to be occupied by many adventurous souls. The track which was originally created in 1895 is not long (about 2.5km in and out), but does descend into the gully, meaning you will need to haul yourself back out again if you go all the way to the base. Alternatively there is good vantage point overlooking the falls that can be reached without too much effort, though you will still need to rock hop over a small stream. With this image I was taken by the way the trees, heavily back-lit by the setting sun, seemed to sparkle with life, so I choose to fill the frame with them rather than concentrating purely on the cascades themselves.
