Botanical Print-"Iris"
Red Bubble's design challenge forced my hand on this botanical collection and I'm extremely grateful. My designs typically are a mix of history with a pop art twist.
This new offering appealed to me, because I the challenge gave us access to a wonderful resource of books from the State Library in Victoria Australia. It truly was a great opportunity for all of those involved. It wasn't hard to settle on the botanical book. The information was so engaging and how each artist came to be, most working in botany. And the iris in particular is my mom's favorite flower.
I had always wanted to do a print with script in the background, so I was able to experiment with that here. Eventually someone bought my scarf print to hang in a newborn's room who was named Iris.
