The original under painting showed Glenelg (Adelaide - South Australia) from the Jetty looking south .....Why I visited? - sure wasnt to see high rise buildings and the shadow they cast across the beach - it was about the moment - the gentle waves rolling in and feeling sand in the toes………so this painting had considerable artist licence ………. Avril Thomas is better known for her painted portraits. Her work is in corporate and private collections round Australia Hong Kong and USA. Her work can be found in the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra. ............... Her studio and gallery are in South Australia at Magpie Springs in the Adelaide Hills / Fleurieu Peninsula. ❤️ Art in Adelaide visited Adelaide Artist Avril Thomas at Magpie Springs where her Art Gallery and studio is for an interview. ❤️ (Magpie Springs is an Adelaide Hills Wine Region vineyard in South Australia with Art Gallery and Cellar Door.)
