Pink Rhododendron
The pink rhododendron in my dad’s garden was one of the shrubs I documented after he asked me to record all the plants he’d grown. It flowered in late spring, producing clusters of trumpet-shaped blooms in a clear, bright pink that stood out against its glossy evergreen leaves. I noted the shrub’s size, the structure of its branches, and how the flowers attracted bumblebees on warm days, making it an important early nectar source in the garden. Photographing and describing it felt like a practical way to honour his request, turning a single rhododendron into part of a more complete record of the garden he cared for so much.
