  1. Writing Of The Week
stanze del cuore

by Donna19

I found a room today
I didn’t know was there
Locked inside so deep
My spirit was unaware

I tried to turn the key
Stuck inside the lock
It wouldn’t even budge
So instead decided to knock

No one came to the door
No voice to me cried out
So quiet it all seemed
So I gave a hopeful shout

Hello, I am here
Oh please someone listen
But silence once again
Then the key began to glisten

Discovery made me feel
Surreal inside my soul
Where and what was I
But lost and oh so cold

To the floor the key dropped
Beside my foot it came to rest
Picked it up I did so slow
And into the lock to test

Slowly my hands they warmed
As the key began to turn
Then open slid the door
But my mind could not discern

There in the empty room
One window without a pane
The key inside my hand
Glistened again like rain

Turned it quickly I did
No joy had been mine to sing
Locked myself inside this time
Safe and sound from hurtful things

Then I felt a pulling motion
By the window I would wait
Every star has its twinkle
The moon it shines for fate

  1. 1st Runner-Up
Out of the Darkness into the Light

by JRGarland

Solitude whispers its lonely tunes
Excluding life from its bitter clutches
Locked away in a world without a vision
Lost in an empty cell to rot in the night
Cold and bitter is this cage of the heart
Whose sounds of joy too far from view
Wrapped in a cocoon with only the stars to shine
Unable to reach out to touch a soul
Awake sleepy hollow, let my voice sing out
Echoing in the moonlight I will come again
To answer the call heard in the darkness
Where madness swallows up its embittered pangs
There you will find me a breath away
Reaching out my opened hand to touch your soul
And guide you unto a land of riches and beauty
Found only in insanity’s gift of life
Let us therefore walk hand in hand
And venture off into the land of the living
Where flowers and trees meets the ocean breeze
And life has new meaning to greet the day

  1. 2nd Runner-Up
The fabric

by su2anne

The Old One muses; ‘How can you fit the impossible?”
Yet The Infinite is her weft
The universe her warp
Stardust her silken thread
Rapier-like she propels across Earth’s stratosphere
Another planet in Her making

  1. 3rd Runner-Up
Daisies

by Susan Werby

I do adore the simplicity of one stem of daisies, reaching towards the sun, searching for something or someone…
That is what I imagine as I study their flowery parts.

This time they have found me and I smile with pleasure.
Certainly Spring is right around the corner if I squeeze my eyes shut and just wish.

Curating a show is like conducting an orchestra Evita. it’s a performing art form. This time you’ve assembled such wonderful artists then presented everything to create synergy. And…. You included my ‘Peace Sign’ in your WORK!!! That’s beyond flattering. Thanks Evita, for everything that you do.
