The 5th in our new challenge layout catering for all aspects of nature for us nature lovers.

As you can see the title will start with the category which will make it easier for me when choosing what challenge to do next, I can see the challenges I have already run in this category.

Interesting Facts

> A heath or heathland is a dwarf-shrub habitat found on mainly low quality acidic soils.

> Heathland is favoured where climatic conditions are typically warm and dry, particularly in summer, and soils acidic, of low fertility, and often sandy and very free-draining. Although, there is no clear difference between heath and moorland but moorland is generally related to high-ground heaths like those found north of Great Britain — a cooler and damper climate.

> Heath vegetation is extremely plant-species rich.
